There has been a lot of buzz around the German symphonic metal band XANDRIA lately. They will release their new studio album “Eclipse” on August 7th, with the first single and video from it, “The Shannon's Home”, already out.
The upcoming album contains eleven tracks that represent the most diverse work in the band's discography to date: each song has its own identity – a journey full of discoveries – and yet they all belong to the same world. Classic metal riffs inspired by the 80s stand next to low-tuned modern metal guitars; cinematic orchestral sounds meet Celtic folk influences, and dark electronic elements mix with intimate rock moments.
The epic first track "The Shannon's Home" just proves that XANDRIA is one of the leading performers on the metal scene.
Marco Heubaum, the genius of XANDRIA, comments on "The Shannon's Home" as follows: "The song is like a beautiful, slightly dark fairy tale - which makes sense, because it is an analogy of life, depicted as the Shannon River, flowing from source to sea.
