METALFEST OPEN AIR 2025 – Friday 6. 6. – Sunday 8. 6. 2024, Lochotín Amphitheatre, PILSEN
Thrash metal legend DEATH ANGEL returns with their first new single in 6 years! In anticipation of the upcoming summer European tour "Summer of Wrath", which will include a visit of the Lochotín Amphitheatre in PILSEN on Sunday, June 8th, at the 14th edition of the international metal festival METALFEST OPEN AIR, the band has released a brand new song called 'Wrath (Bring Fire)'. Check it out and look forward to really wild and angry thrash metal mayhem that awaits you at METALFEST!
Singer Mark Osegueda says of the new track: “‘Wrath (Bring Fire)’ is the first full band Death Angel song to come out since our 2019 Grammy nominated album ‘Humanicide’. However, this song was written during the pandemic. I wrote the lyrics and melody for it in January 2021. During that time, I was, like all of us, lost, angry, and very confused at home. I was also watching a lot more TV than usual. One of the genres was medieval/fantasy series, which was quite new to me as an adult. We all needed some new forms of escape from the global hell we were all going through. That was partly what inspired these lyrics. The ancient/medieval fantasy of the end of the world war meets my real approach to disputes… Unfortunately, this can turn into very ugly situations for everyone involved if I’m pushed to a certain level or place where I feel wronged! And... As always for... Me... The pen doesn't touch the paper until I hear the music, and it paints a picture and inspires a vision that eventually becomes my lyrics. And the music that Rob wrote and the fantasy/medieval series I watched at the time, plus the personal hell I went through, figuring out who the hell I was during that terrible time in our shared history, and combining that with my real personal aggressions and rages, all inspired this song! So, when I come, I'll bring FIRE! "
